In response to an article in The News of the World. City released a statement about the situation, confirming the request and the confirmation of the it's rejection. The club held Tevez's representative Kia Joorabchian responsible for the request. Joorabchian also leaked the story to The News of the World and prepared the statement which Tevez released late last night. So City's claim stands up.
"My relationship with certain executives and individuals at the club has broken down and is now beyond repair. I do not wish to expand on this at this stage. They know, because I have told them. I wish to clarify that I have no personal issue with the manager Roberto Mancini."Why would Tevez have a working relationship with Garry Cook? This is down to Cook cutting Joorabchian loose when getting rid of Thaskin Shinawatra's regime. Tevez is just collateral damage in their feud.
In the statement released by Manchester City they said that Tevez's reprasentatives wanted to 'renegotiate and improve' his contract. With City's policy of not negotiating contracts during the season. This was refused. Tevez is saying something different.
"I could have signed an improved contract, offered by the club during this season; however this decision is not about money."Joorabchian has seen how Rooney's agent won his client a £250'000 a week over at Trafford, and tried to do the same. He tried to get Tevez's £235'000 a week contract improved to £300'000. We may be one of the richest clubs in the world, but they won't be taken for mugs.
Kia Joorabchian is up to his old tricks. He is taken his only asset somewhere else. Let him go. Let's get someone else in who wants to be here. City were going to bid for Didier Drogba when Tevez expressed his desire to leave in the summer. Let's bring him Drogba to the club in January.
