Wayne Rooney getting away with it

On Saturday Wayne Rooney was at his thuggish best elbowing Wigan's James McCarthy in the early stages of United's 4-0 victory. He got away with no punishment then, and has been getting away with it for years.

The Football Association have been letting the England striker off the hook for years. UEFA have got in the act too. If it was any other play they would be labelled a 'bad boy' 'troublemaker' and moving from club-to-club. Not the nation's sweetheart. Ar' Wayne can do what he wants.

His attitude stinks, the attitude of a spoilt child. His blatant disrespect for the officials of our game is a disgrace, and a bad standard to set his younger fans. Fans who look up to him and herald him as a hero. An example of his lack of respect is from Graham Poll's Daily Mail column where Rooney told Poll to fuck off 27 times in 45 minutes. Referees also let Rooney escape another red whilst trying to re-arrange Abdy Faye's face in a match against Stoke City.

The Football Association have also failed in their duty to punish Rooney. After his sending off against Fulham he punched the corner flag, escaping further punishment and a letter warning him of is future conduct. A letter which was ignored 8 months on as he suggested Chelsea had a 12th man in a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea. Again The FA sent out another letter, a waste of paper and the cost of the stamp.

In October 2008 The FA's secretary must of been busy as they didn't deem a letter necessary for the disrespecting actions towards the Everton crowd. UEFA did not deem a blatant stamp on Aalborg midfielder Kasper Risgard worthy of punishment either. Something needs to change. The disciplinary system and his attitude.

But it is Wayne Rooney's style to play aggressive.

He has scored 8 goals since March 2010. Prolific?

thanks to @ManUnitedCheat for providing the links.

EDIT - As soon as this was published it was announced 'no further punishment' for Wayne over the McCarthy elbow. Well done Football Association, well done.
